Mein Projekt thematisiert die Inspiration von Musikern durch Werke zeitgenössischer Kunst. Entscheidendes Kriterium ist die Veröffentlichung der Kompositionen auf CD oder LP und die Nennung des Künstlers oder des Kunstwerks im Titel der Aufnahme. Der Idealfall ist dann gegeben, wenn die gesamte CD einem Künstler gewidmet ist und jedes einzelne Stück dessen Kunstwerken zugeordnet ist (Muthspiel,Frisell, Rijnvos, Previte u.a.).

Kevin Dean Jagoe, Ph.D. Classical music composer and violist, Texas. Dissertation (1998): "Frieze of Life: Music for Chamber Orchestra on Paintings by Edvard Munch" provides on his website a list named "Music Inspired by Art Works" where Jagoe cites the artist and the work of art which inspired his composition. It is a very helpful contribution to this subject, but my approach is different in the way that I am only collecting published music beginning in the 1950s. The intention of my project is therefore to sensibilize the publishers for this matter and have more contemporary music recorded - inspired by art."
